Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Nyungwe forest National Park
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, one of our representatives will be there to greet you. They will not only guide you through your journey and safari, but also act as your driver. They will provide you with a brief overview of the journey and the safari, before embarking on your drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Depending on the time of your flight, there may be a few stops along the way or you could simply drive straight to the national park and check into your booked accommodation. Once settled in, you can take some time to relax before having dinner, followed by an overnight stay.

Day 2: Bird watching with a Nature Walk in Nyungwe Forest
This morning, you will be awoken to a scrumptious breakfast as you go on a guided walk to Nyungwe Forest. You could potentially catch sight of several monkey species such as silver monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive monkeys, and gray cheeked mangabeys! After the trek, head back to your accommodation to get ready for another guided walk around the park. This time you'll be able to observe even more wildlife and birds!

Day 3: Chimps trekking and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Start your day off right by having breakfast, then head out into the forest to track chimpanzees. This activity will be finished around noon, and then you can return to the lodge for lunch and checking out of your room. Afterwards, you'll drive over to Volcanoes National Park so you can meet the majestic mountain gorillas in person. After a day of exploration, you'll stay the night at your booked accommodation, with dinner included as listed below.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes Park.
Start your day off with a good breakfast, then head to Kinigi headquarters for a briefing. Afterwards, get ready for your gorilla trekking experience! Make sure you have your packed lunch, bottled water, and the right footwear. Don't forget to bring sunglasses, insect repellent, and rain gear too. Later on, you can visit traditional dancers and learn about Rwandan drumming, singing and dancing. End your day with dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Golden monkey tracking with visit to Dian Fossey
Let's start the day off with a hearty breakfast and then set off on our golden monkey trekking adventure. When we're done, we'll take some time to rest and have lunch before heading out to visit Dian Fossey at Karisoke Research Center. We'll get a chance to learn more about her extraordinary efforts to conserve gorillas in the Rwandan mist, as well as witness the place where she was laid to rest alongside a silverback gorilla. Rwanda is abundant with beautiful bird species, so make sure you take some time to really appreciate them during our activities today. After that, it's time for some much-needed rest back at the lodge, followed by dinner and an overnight stay as we prepare for our departure and check-out tomorrow.

Day 6: Brief City Tour With Airport Drop Off
This morning you will have your last breakfast at the lodge, then check out and set off for the capital city. The plan for today depends on when your flight departs; if it's early, the driver/guide will drop you off at the airport. But if your flight is in the evening, you'll have an opportunity to explore one of Africa's fastest growing capitols.
